§ 2-87. Qualifications.

  • The secretary of the city shall be properly qualified for the duties of the office. The secretary shall, before entering upon the duties of his/her office, enter into a good and sufficient bond, signed by two or more good and sufficient sureties, in favor of the city in an amount to be determined by the city council; and such bond shall be approved by the city council and filed and recorded in its minutes. The city council may require a new bond whenever they deem the existing bond insufficient.
