§ 50-4. Inspections by city health officer authorized.

  • The city health officer or designated agent shall make periodic inspections and report to the city board of health or city council any existing unsanitary condition in the city. The city board of health or city council shall, in turn, report such conditions to the city health officer or his/her designee, who shall be requested personally or by his/her subordinate officers to investigate the unsanitary conditions and give the offending person a chance to remove such condition; then, if at the expiration of the given time the unsanitary condition has not been removed or remedied, the matter shall be turned over to the city attorney who shall cause the proper papers to be served on the offender and the necessary legal proceedings instituted to bring about compliance with this article.
